The Storm Is Coming

A storm is coming and it’s not a small one either. As Christians, what are we doing about it? It has not been very many times that we have faced a Cat five hurricane with winds climbing past 175 mph. I have for the last couple of minutes read about the devastation that’s coming… I will ask you again, as Christians, what are we doing?

Fear. Desperation. Anger. Sadness. Are just a few of the emotions the world is feeling as they watch this storm approaching.

Have we forgotten that Jesus gave us the power to speak to the storms?

What would this storm look like if every Christ follower stood up, raised their hands and SPOKE to this storm?

Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.

Psalm 107:28-29

The Bible says HE CALMS THE STORMS, and the waves are still! Jesus does not expect us to sit back and watch as people need His deliverance. We as His people are called to speak to the storm no matter what that storm looks like or how scary it may seem. We know the Maker of the waves and the Master of the storms.

and said: “ Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. ‘If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.’

2 Chronicles 20:6,9

Today let’s speak to this storm in the name of Jesus #stormspeaker #HolySpirit #Masterofthewind #Peacebestill

Worship on Palm Sunday

“Worship the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for God.”

It’s Palm Sunday (quite possibly the happiest Sunday in history) Jesus is welcomed in the city and people are singing His “praises”. They didn’t know Friday was coming… it’s easy to praise when everything is going the way you think that is the plan.

But Friday was fast approaching when Jesus knew that these same people would turn on Him and He would be alone. His own disciples couldn’t stay awake and pray with Him. I know that we have all felt that way lonely and rejected when despair is all we have felt.

Worship is hard. Worship is what comes when praise disappears. Worship is bone deep and emotional. I love Palm Sunday. I mean LOVE this Sunday. For some reason today I just didn’t want to get up get going so when I got to church and the music started I will confess that I was not in a “worship” kind of place. Here’s what I was reminded of. When I raised one hand I could feel vibrations of sound reach to my finger tips. When I raised BOTH arms towards the heavens my whole body becomes a tuning fork reaching for the Presence of Lord! That’s when praise turned into worship!

When praise turns into worship that’s when peace reigns, it’s just you and the Lord. So the next time things go bad and you just want to stop the enemy is scared you are about to see the face of God. Know that his lies are just that, LIES! Sunday is coming! Worship, even when you think you have nothing left.

Christmas Picture

Nativity….How many of us see this when we think of the Christmas birth? As I sat in church yesterday the preacher said something that I had heard a million time but the Lord opened my eyes to a picture i had yet to think about.

The stable much like the world was dirty, filthy and smelled. (Can you imagine being a NEW mom and thinkin that you were goin to have to deliver a child into all of that disease) God choose to give us His Son in the worst possible conditions because before Christ enters our life we are our worst possible selfs. He reminded me once again that without Him we are nothing but a dirty filthy stable but with Him we are children of The King!

No one is not worthy of the love Jesus has for us! You were so loved that God parted with his son, so that He could come into a filthy world to save someone even as low as me.

What a Christmas picture! So raise your head son and daughters to the king you are worthy of more than what this life has to offer you.
